They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky.<\/em>\u00a0Catherine Zeta-Jones<\/a>, Jenna Ortega, Luis Guzma\u0301n, and Issac Ordonez are coming to screens as the new Addams Family in Wednesday<\/em><\/a>. Eight episodes of the forthcoming Netflix series will drop this fall, just in time for spooky season. Courtesy of Tim Burton, the spinoff just released its official teaser trailer<\/a> and a first look at the \u201csupernaturally infused mystery.”<\/p>\n

You<\/em> actress Jenna Ortega will portray the titular cynical Wednesday Addams as she navigates life as a student at Nevermore Academy. Attempting to gain control over her psychic powers, Wednesday must contend with a supernatural killing spree that has invaded the local town, all while solving a 25-year-old mystery that once entangled her parents.<\/p>\n

Zeta-Jones will embody the iconic gothic matriarch Moticia Adams, while Guzma\u0301n will portray her loving and doting husband Gomez and Ordonez will play their son Pugsley. Rounding out the cast is George Burcea as the eerie servant Lurch, while Victor Dorobantu will play the hand Thing.<\/p>\n

We even get a nostalgic surprise with a special appearance from Yellowjackets<\/em><\/a>\u2019 Christina Ricci (portraying Marilyn Thornhill) who played Wednesday Addams in the 1990 film.<\/p>\n

Co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar also served as writers and executive producers on the MGM-backed show while Burton will executive produce and direct four out of the total eight episodes.<\/p>\n

The Addams Family<\/em> has had a myriad of renditions over the years. Created by cartoonist Charles Addams, it first appeared as a comic strip in 1938, originally published in The New Yorker<\/em>. Tales of the dysfunctional family would eventually become a 1960s television series, a Tony Award-winning musical, and a successful ’90s film franchise.<\/p>\n

Previously, the role of the elegant and sleuthing Morticia has been portrayed by actresses Carolyn Jones and Anjelica Huston. With her signature cascading long raven tresses and a long-sleeved form-fitting black gown, Morticia’s ox-blood tinted lips and long manicure secure the character’s spot as the most beloved, spooky style icon.<\/p>\n
