Zo\u00eb Kravitz<\/a> is opening up about her relationship with Channing Tatum (which is still going strong, by the way) and what’s it’s been like working on her directorial debut Pussy Island\u00a0<\/em>(which she wrote and stars her beau).<\/p>\n

First, an update on their relationship. It’s been a bit since the pair were spotted out together, but in new photos shared this week, they were seen on vacation on Ponza Island, Italy. In photos<\/a> obtained by DailyMail<\/em>, they were seen embracing as they left dinner at a waterfront restaurant.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a>, Kravitz said she had Tatum in mind when writing the script for her new movie. She was seeking “someone who hadn’t played a dark character before,\u201d and thought Tatum was the perfect fit, \u201cbecause I think that’s exciting to watch someone who’s mostly played boy next door, good guy, love interest, all of that.”<\/span><\/p>\n

She continued, “I felt, even from afar, before I knew him, that he was a feminist and that he wasn’t afraid of exploring that darkness, because he knows he’s not that,” she said. “That’s why I was drawn to him and wanted to meet with him. And I was right.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Kravitz also talked about the process of working with the\u00a0Magic Mike<\/em><\/a> actor (who will star alongside I Wanna Dance with Somebody<\/em><\/a>‘s Naomi Ackie).\u00a0“When you make things with people it’s a very sacred space, and when you’re compatible with somebody creatively it often opens up other channels, because you’re kind of sharing all of yourself.” She added, “I’m really grateful that this movie has brought him [Tatum] into my life that way.”<\/p>\n

Set for a 2023 release, Kravitz co-wrote the Pussy Island<\/em> script with E.T. Feigenbaum and said the story was \u201cborn out of a lot of anger and frustration around the lack of conversation about the treatment of women, specifically in industries that have a lot of money in them, like Hollywood, the tech world, all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The film follows Frida (Ackie), a cocktail waitress, who gets invited to billionaire tech mogul Slater King\u2019s (Tatum) private island where things go awry. \u201cThe title is the seed of the story,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cIt represents this time where it would be acceptable for a group of men to call a place that, and the illusion that we\u2019re out of that time now.\u201d<\/p>\n
