Anne Heche has died at age 53. A representative for her family confirmed the news, releasing a statement saying the actress “has been peacefully taken off life support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heche\u2019s vehicle crashed into a Mar Vista home in Los Angeles at high-speed before erupting into flames on August 5. After slipping into a coma, the star passed away on August 12 due to injuries sustained in the accident. She leaves behind two sons.<\/p>\n

Heche shares son Homer Laffoon, 20, with ex-husband Coleman \u201cColey\u201d Laffoon. Married from 2001 to 2009, Coley shared an emotional tribute to Instagram Reels<\/a>, saying, \u201cI loved her and I miss her, and I\u2019m always going to.\u201d He went onto share an update on their son. \u201cHomer is okay. He\u2019s grieving, of course, and it\u2019s rough. It\u2019s really rough, as probably anybody can imagine. But he\u2019s surrounded by family and he\u2019s strong, and he\u2019s gonna be okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ex James Tupper, with whom Heche shared her son Atlas Heche Tupper, 13, also shared a tribute on Instagram<\/a>. The Big Little Lies<\/em> actor shared an image of his ex, writing, \u201clove you forever \ud83d\udc94.\u201d<\/p>\n

An award-winning actress, director, and screenwriter, Heche made her television debut on the soap opera Another World<\/em> in 1987, earning her a Daytime Emmy Award. The star left the series to begin a successful film career, appearing in Donnie Brasco<\/em>, I Know What You Did Last Summer<\/em>, Wag the Dog<\/em>, and the 1998 Psycho<\/em> remake.<\/p>\n

Her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres catapulted the pair as one of the most recognizable same-sex couples in the world. Together from 1997 to 2000, their relationship coincided with DeGeneres coming out in both real life and on air in her eponymous sitcom.
