Always one to make a strong style statement on the red carpet, Gwendoline Christie did it once again for August 3 premiere of\u00a0 The Sandman<\/em>, which took place in London, England. Consistently choosing ethereal and avant-garde creations from Gucci and Iris van Herpen<\/a> in the past, Christie decided to take a more futuristic approach, with an added otherworldly element, courtesy of designer Rick Owens<\/a>‘ Fall\/Winter 2022 collection.<\/p>\n

The structural muted silver sequined top featured a halter neckline with a caped panel sleeve that scooped around her neck and dropped from shoulder to knee. Teaming her look with a distressed denim fitted floor-length skirt with an ombr\u00e9 wash, Christie slipped into a pair of taupe suede pointed-toe pumps.<\/p>\n

Not the first star to find Owens’ dystopian and apocalyptic designs too perfect to pass up, Zendaya<\/a> adorned a similarly sculpted gown for the London premiere of her sci-fi\/ fantasy blockbuster Dune<\/em><\/a> last October.<\/p>\n

With a fashion brigade<\/a> at the ready, Christie has been with her longtime partner, fashion designer Giles Deacon since 2013, undoubtably seeing her through press tours \u2014 from Game of Thrones<\/em> to Star Wars<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Providing the perfect dose of space-age glamor, Christie promoted her latest project. Netflix’s new TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s iconic comic series The Sandman<\/em> sees the eponymous character, a.k.a. Dream (played by Tom Sturridge), as a cosmic being who has control over everyone’s dreams. After he is captured and imprisoned for hundreds of years, he must travel across various timelines and worlds to remedy the damage his absence has caused.<\/p>\n

Portraying the ruler of hell, Christie plays Lucifer Morningstar, with Taron Egerton, Patton Oswalt, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Jenna Coleman rounding out the cast. The series will be stream on Netflix starting August
