The Crown<\/em> actor Emma Corrin<\/a> is taking on a new role, starring as the titular character in the new stage adaptation of Virginia Woolf\u2019s prolific 1928 novel Orlando: A Biography<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Corrin took to Instagram<\/a> to express their excitement for the project, \u201cOh I\u2019m in absolute bits. Huge honor to be working with @michaelgrandagecompany<\/a>\u00a0again and to be bringing Orlando !!! to the west end.\u201d They went on to say, \u201cvery very very excited.\u201d<\/p>\n

The play will run in London’s West End, and Corrin will participate in the Neil Bartlett project along with their My Policeman<\/em><\/a> director Michael Grandage.<\/p>\n

Orlando<\/em> has previously been portrayed by Woolf admirer and Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton<\/a> in the 1992 Sally Potter film adaptation. Earlier this year, the actress gave the foreword for the book The Fendi Set<\/a>, <\/em>honoring the group of 20th<\/sup> century English intellectuals known as the Bloomsbury Set, arguably led by Woolf. Swinton also sat down with French luxury maison Chanel to dissect her great love of the written word \u00a0in an episode of \u201cIn the Library With\u2026\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI have a relationship with certain books that I will reread every few years,\u201d Swinton explained. \u201c’Orlando’ by Virginia Woolf is a book that I first read when I was about 13, and it became very important to me because I developed a film based on it, and it’s sort of lived with me for my whole life since. But I still try and read it about every five years. And it changes. It\u2019s like a mirror, because I\u2019ll be five years older, and my life will have evolved.\u201d<\/p>\n
