Finding a new boyfriend during a global pandemic is a big feat for anyone, let alone finding one when you’re one of the most famous actresses in the world. But in Katie Holmes’ case, quarantine seems to have served her well. For the past few months, the 41-year-old has been spending a lot of time with restaurateur Emilio Vitolo Jr., who she started dating in September and who she now makes out with, holds hands with and, most significantly, matches masks with on the streets of New York City.<\/p>\n

But, despite things looking rosy from the outside, it sounds like Holmes’ friends are a little worried about how fast she’s moving with Vitolo Jr. Perhaps the main reason for concern is that Vitolo Jr. was engaged to be married to his longtime, live-in girlfriend<\/a> until mere weeks before he was spotted packing on the PDA with Holmes. A source told People<\/a><\/em> in September that Vitolo Jr. broke things off with his partner “abruptly the second Katie showed some interest.”<\/p>\n

With the new couple inseparable at the moment, friends and family apparently have “some concern” about the speed at which the relationship is progressing. However, Holmes seems certain she’s making the right decision with her new romance.<\/p>\n

“Katie has been on cloud nine ever since Emilio came into her life,” a source told Us Weekly<\/em>. “She doesn\u2019t care what people may say about rushing into the romance. In her mind, this is the real deal, they\u2019re riding a beautiful wave together, and she\u2019s already decided it\u2019s got the potential to go all the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

“Nobody deprives her of that [freedom], and if she wants to make things official with Emilio, then the common view is good for her,” another source told the outlet. “She\u2019s got some seriously protective friends and family though, so he\u2019d better carry on treating her this well if he knows what\u2019s good for
