It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for \u2014 Beyonc\u00e9’s new music is finally here! Queen Bey dropped her highly anticipated seventh studio album<\/a> Renaissance<\/em> at midnight on July 29 along with a collection of new album art imagery, featuring the most opulent and surrealist fashions from the industry’s top designers.<\/p>\n

In the artistic photo shoot, Beyonc\u00e9 adorns the likes of avant-garde fashion houses from Schiaparelli to Mugler and Ala\u00efa in futuristic breastplates, a psychedelic Madonna-esque cone bra<\/a>, and shimmering nipple pasties, courtesy of lead stylist and Renaissance<\/em> costume designer Marni Senofonte, with the help of Rogelio Burgos, Damien Lloyd, and Vance Gamble.<\/p>\n

She also changed up her beauty look, sporting her hair slicked back, in a choppy bob, and in long mermaid waves. And perhaps the best sartorial nod, the Queen Bey also rocked quite the impressive sky-high beehive hairstyle.<\/p>\n

The superstar first dropped the dance anthem “Break My Soul<\/a>,” lauding reinvention and The Great Resignation, on June 20. The album was later leaked before its set release date<\/a>, prompting fans to urge others to hold off on listening until the official release. Beyonc\u00e9 shared a message of gratitude to her Beyhive, writing on her website<\/a>, \u201cSo, the album leaked, and you all actually waited until the proper release time so you all can enjoy it together. I\u2019ve never seen anything like it. I can\u2019t thank y\u2019all enough for your love and protection. I appreciate you for calling out anyone that was trying to sneak into the club early. It means the world to me. Thank you for your unwavering support. Thank you for being patient. We are going to take our time and enjoy the music. I will continue to give my all and do my best to bring you joy. I love you deep.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued<\/a>, \u201cThe three-act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative. Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgement, a place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking, a place to scream, release feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.\u201d<\/p>\n

The artist went on to thank her children, twins Rumi, and Sir, 5, and Blue, 10, for \u201callowing me the space, creativity, and inspiration,\u201d and gave a special shoutout to her husband of 14 years, Jay-Z. \u201cA special thanks to my beautiful husband and muse, who held me down during those late nights in the studio.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dedicating the new album to her late Uncle Jonny, who was gay, Beyonc\u00e9 wrote<\/a>, \u201cA big thank you to my Uncle Jonny. He was my Godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album. Thank you for all the pioneers who originate culture, to all of the fallen angels whose contributions have gone unrecognized for far too long. This is a celebration for you.\u201d The star went on to thank the producers involved, her mother and father, and her fans.<\/p>\n

Following her 2016 award-winning record\u00a0Lemonade<\/em>, the forthcoming album includes \u201cact i\u201d in the title, set to follow up with \u201cact ii\u201d and \u201cact iii.\u201d<\/p>\n

With four unique box sets available for pre-order on\u00a0Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s\u00a0official website<\/a>, the package comes complete with a T-shirt, CD, a mini poster, and a 28-page photo book. The box sets begin shipping out on July 29 in concert with the album\u2019s release.<\/p>\n

Renaissance<\/em> marks Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s first solo album in the last six years, with 16 tracks chock full of joyful and electrifying house music, paying homage to disco and queer club culture.<\/p>\n

Always one to opt for a poignant and captivating visual display, the extensive shoot follows Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s visual albums championing both established and up-and-coming designers.<\/p>\n

2016\u2019s\u00a0Lemonade <\/em>came with an epic visual album featuring standout style moments like the mustard ruffled Roberto Cavalli gown Beyonc\u00e9 wore while smashing out car windows in the \u201cHold Up\u201d video. The Lion King: The Gift<\/em>\u00a0soundtrack for the 2019 live-action Disney adaptation, came with a coordinating visual album Black Is King<\/em>, where Beyonc\u00e9 donned the rising designer Marine Serre\u2019s moon print. With her influence, the style went on to be the most popular design of the year.<\/p>\n

These images are sure to go down in pop culture history, too.<\/p>\n
