Kate Moss<\/a> was catapulted to fame at just 17 when she appeared alongside actor Mark Whalberg in an underwear campaign for Calvin Klein<\/a>. In an interview on the BBC Radio 4 <\/a>Desert Island Discs<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>show this week, she recalled feeling incredibly vulnerable and scared during the shoot. Despite the career-defining moment, her memories “are not very good.”<\/p>\n

Speaking on the actor she told the outlet, \u201cHe was very macho, and it was all about him. He had a big entourage. I was just this kind of model.\u201d Whalberg was well known for being surrounded by a group of rowdy friends which is believed to have inspired the HBO series\u00a0Entourage.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

In one famous image, Moss is seen with her legs wrapped around the star as she poses topless. \u201cI think they played on my vulnerability,\u201d she said of the photo. \u201cI was quite young and innocent, so Calvin loved that.\u201d\u00a0Moss admitted that she also suffered from “severe anxiety” prior to the shoot and was prescribed Valium to cope. \u201cI really didn\u2019t feel well at all before the shoot. For like, a week or two, I couldn\u2019t get out of bed.”<\/p>\n

In a 2020 interview with\u00a0The Guardian,<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>Whalberg responded to working with Moss, admitting, \u201cI think I was probably a little rough around the edges. Kind of doing my thing. I wasn\u2019t very \u2026 worldly, let\u2019s say that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moss has recently been named the creative director of Diet Coke. In reflecting on her early career with the BBC, she added that her famous quote \u201cNothing Tastes As Good As Skinny Feels,”<\/a> was taken out of context.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I was a scapegoat for a lot of people\u2019s problems,” she said.\u00a0\u201cI was never anorexic \u2014 I never have been. I had never taken heroin. I was thin because I didn\u2019t get fed at shoots or shows and I had always been thin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nowadays Moss has realigned her career with the likes of Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand,
