Mandy Moore\u2019s ex-husband musician Ryan Adams penned a very public apology letter to his ex-wife and other women he had \u201cmistreated\u201d over the years. The This Is Us<\/em> star though was having none it, noting Adams hadn\u2019t even reached out to her in person.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not looking for an apology necessarily, but I do find it curious that someone would do an interview about it without actually making amends privately,\u201d Moore, 36, told the Today Show. She also jumped on Twitter with an additional thought: \u201cAnd can we also just move on from giving space to this nonsense and empty, performative acts of contrition and focus on real news? Like #JusticeForBreonnaTaylor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moore, who was married to Adams from 2009 to 2016 has previously said he was \u201cpsychologically abusive.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Monday, Adams released an apology letter via the The Daily Mail<\/em>. \u201cThere are no words to express how bad I feel about the ways I\u2019ve mistreated people throughout my life and career. All I can say is that I\u2019m sorry. It\u2019s that simple,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis period of isolation and reflection made me realize that I needed to make significant changes in my life\u2026To the cynics who may say this is a career comeback attempt, to a lot of people this will just seem like the same empty bulls**t apology that I\u2019ve always used when I was called out, and all I can say is, this time it is different. Having truly realized the harm that I\u2019ve caused, it wrecked me, and I\u2019m still reeling from the ripples of the devastating effects that my actions triggered.\u201d<\/p>\n

In February 2019, the New York Times<\/em><\/a> published an article titled “Ryan Adams Dangled Success. Women Say They Paid The Price.” It explores several women’s accounts where they say Adams promised to jumpstart their careers only to then pursue female artists for sex.<\/p>\n

Moore also took part in the Times<\/em> feature story<\/a>. \u201cHe would always tell me, \u2018You\u2019re not a real musician, because you don\u2019t play an instrument.\u2019 His controlling behavior essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time \u2014 my entire mid-to-late 20s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moore is now married to American singer-songwriter Taylor Goldsmith.<\/p>\n
