After it was announced<\/a> that Lily-Rose Depp<\/a> and The Weeknd<\/a> (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) would appear in a new HBO series last September, we’ve received the first official teaser to the high-octane drama. The series is co-created by Tesfaye and\u00a0Euphoria\u00a0<\/em>writer Sam Levinson and promises to be “the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood.”<\/p>\n

The series is titled\u00a0The Idol\u00a0<\/em>and follows Depp’s character, a pop singer who sparks a complicated romance with a club owner and secret Los Angeles cult leader played by Tesfaye. The cast and crew were overhauled in April to fit a “new creative direction”<\/a> and now stars the likes of Troye Sivan, Steve Zissis, Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Nico Hiraga, Anne Heche, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, and Blackpink’s Jennie.<\/p>\n
