No matter how hard Netflix may try, come Christmas, every single romantic comedy that&#8217;s been released in the past decade falls flat in comparison to the gems that were released in the 90s and early aughts.<\/p>\n<p>Back then, we were spoiled for choice when it came to romantic comedies. <em>Notting Hill, Never Been Kissed, 10 Things I Hate About You <\/em>and<em> Pretty Woman <\/em>are all still cult classics today. As are rom-com festive editions, such as <em>The Holiday, Love Actually <\/em>and <em>Bridget Jones, which <\/em>are essential watching every holiday season, no matter how many times you&#8217;ve seen Hugh Grant door-knocking in the snow to find Natalie.<\/p>\n<p>But it looks like finally, there might be a new rom-com that is &#8211; brace yourself &#8211; actually good. Not only that, but it&#8217;s focused on a lesbian couple, making it the first mainstream gay Christmas movie ever.<\/p>\n<p><em>Happiest Season<\/em> stars Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, Aubrey Plaza, Dan Levy and Alison Brie. In the film, directed by Clea DuVall, Stewart plays Abby, a woman who decides to propose to her girlfriend at Christmas, while meeting her family for the first time.
