This week it was revealed that Beanie Feldstein<\/a> would be stepping away from her role as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl\u00a0<\/em>on Broadway with the ever-controversial Lea Michele<\/a> serving as her replacement. Feldstein recalled via a statement on Instagram that she made the “difficult decision” as the lauded musical was taking a “different direction.”<\/p>\n

“Playing Fanny Brice on Broadway has been a lifelong dream of mine, and doing so for the last few months has been a great joy and true honor,” she wrote. “Once the production decided to take the show in a different direction, I made the extremely difficult decision to step away sooner than anticipated.”<\/p>\n
