It is the sequel we didn’t know we wanted nor needed but today Disney released the official trailer to Hocus Pocus 2.\u00a0<\/em>The first film was released in 1993 with Sarah Jessica Parker<\/a>, Bette Midler and Kath Najimy all reprising their roles as the avant-garde witches.<\/p>\n

According to a synopsis released today: “It\u2019s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow\u2019s Eve.”<\/p>\n

Whitney Peak<\/a> known for her breakout role in the 2021 Gossip Girl <\/em>joins the cast alongside Sam Richardson (The Tomorrow War<\/em>), Doug Jones (The Shape of Water<\/em>), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso<\/em>), Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories<\/em>), Lilia Buckingham (Dirt<\/em>), Froyan Gutierrez (Teen Wolf)<\/em>, and Tony Hale (Veep<\/em>).<\/p>\n

The film is directed by Anne Fletcher \u2014 known for her work on Dumplin <\/em>and The Proposal<\/em> \u2014 while Lynn Harris (King Richard<\/em>, The Shallows) <\/em>will serve as producer. Ralph Winter and David Kirschner from the original Hocus Pocus <\/em>film, as well as Adam Shankman (Hairspray<\/em>) joins the crew as executive producers.<\/p>\n

The film won’t see a theatrical release and instead will be available to stream on Disney+ just in time for spooky szn on September 30. Watch the trailer below and prepare for a wave of nostalgia.<\/p>\n
