Launching the second iteration of their collaborative genderless capsule collection, Off-White<\/a> and legacy British footwear company Church\u2019s continue to honor the late Off-White founding designer Virgil Abloh\u2019s \u201cQuestion Everything\u201d philosophy through the new shoe style. Designed by Abloh and released Tuesday, the shoe showcases the two philosophies that define both brands \u2014 fusing modern design with artisanal tradition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The sophomore collaboration highlights an iconic style of Church\u2019s, the Consul. Marrying the model with Off-White\u2019s signature \u201cMeteor\u201d motif, the shoe features circular holes throughout, evoking meteor shower craters in voluminous dimensions and putting a unique twist on a classic silhouette.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, there is also a green hangtag and the words “shoe lace” spelled on each lace along the shoe, both classic Off-White elements. <\/span><\/p>\n

Established in 1873 and now owned by Prada, Church\u2019s Consul model dates back to 1945, named after the English ambassadors and politicians who wore it, catapulting the style as a status-symbol of British high aristocracy of the era.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The two labels made their debut as a collaborative force on the runway this February, with Church\u2019s appearing in the Off-White \u201cSpaceship Earth: an Imaginary Experience\u201d catwalk presentation during Paris Fashion Week. Releasing their first style, the Burwood x Off-White brogue came out in March.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday, the Virgil Abloh: “Figures of Speech”<\/em> exhibit<\/a> will open its doors at the Brooklyn Museum honoring the groundbreaking designer. The exhibition spans two decades of creativity and opens from July 1 to January 29, 2023.<\/p>\n

The Consul Meteor will be available online and in stores via Off-White and Church’s for $1,590.<\/p>\n
