Since designer Virgil Abloh<\/a>‘s untimely death in November<\/a> at age 41, his work has lived on through releases of his final designs<\/a>, runway tributes<\/a> and more. Now, there’s news that a new book written by the Off-White founder himself will be published posthumously by Penguin Random House’s imprint One World.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vogue<\/em><\/a> reported that the book, titled <\/span>Work in Progress, <\/span><\/em>is co-authored by Abloh and the founder and editor-in-chief of the Paris-based publication <\/span>Vestoj<\/span><\/em><\/a>, Anja Aronowsky Cronberg. One World explains in the interview that the book will be a “hybrid work that combines cultural criticism, theory, art, and personal narrative.”<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s based on conversations that Abloh and Cronberg<\/span> shared over several years. “We talked about Virgil\u2019s process and \u2018logic,\u2019 and about ideas central to his practice: irony and earnestness, hybridity, paradox, the value of originality, and the policing of \u2018good\u2019 taste,'” Cronberg told the outlet<\/span>. Adding that they aimed “to put big ideas across in an informal way, but also to (re)frame fashion\u2014as art, as industry, and as daily practice\u2014both as an important space for critical thinking, and a site of dynamic cultural and intellectual exchange.”<\/p>\n

Abloh published his first book, Abloh-ism<\/em>, in March 2021 featuring a collection of essential quotations from the renowned fashion luminary that reflected on his perspective as a trailblazer in the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

No publish date has been reported yet, but the news<\/span> comes the same day Off-White announced its collaboration with Major League Baseball and New Cap Era Co.<\/span><\/p>\n

The release states that the capsule collection was under the “joint vision” of Abloh, MLB and New Era Cap Co. and includes hoodies, tops and caps that have been “completely rethought by the Off-White\u2122
\nmeteor holes” on each garment, which is an “elevated evolution of the ‘Meteor Shower’ premise” envisioned by Abloh.<\/p>\n

The late designer’s legacy is living on every day within the industry, and in a week, fans can view his impressive work in the exhibit, Virgil Abloh: “Figures of Speech”<\/a> opening at the Brooklyn Museum on July 1. <\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition was first shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago in 2019, and included<\/span> spotlights of Abloh’s work through his menswear collections for Louis Vuitton, his designs for his streetwear label Off-White, and numerous collaborations with Nike and
