After redefining what pregnancy style is all about with her bump-baring looks<\/a> the past few months, Rihanna<\/a> sat out the 2022 Met Gala red carpet this year. She previously said her due date<\/a> was in the spring, so really, one can’t blame her for skipping a crowded event with hours-long glam.<\/p>\n

But since she’s always one for making a show-stopping entrance and shutting down the carpet with her over-the-top on-theme looks (remember her Guo Pei creation<\/a> that extended the length of the Metropolitan Museum of Art staircase? Or her papal-inspired Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano look in 2018?), missing a Met moment to dress up her baby bump was a little bit disappointing. But as always, Rihanna knows how to give her fans what they want.<\/p>\n

Rihanna may not have been there in person, but she did make it inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, just in statue form. Yes, Vogue<\/em>\u00a0created Rihanna’s likeness in a digital rendering of a marble statue featuring the same pose and Ala\u00efa bodysuit the singer wore on her Vogue<\/em> 2022 May issue cover. The outlet shared a video of the statue on Instagram<\/a> explaining, \u201cThe statue of <\/span>Eirene (The Personification of Peace) is usually the highest-profile marble goddess @themetmuseum<\/a>\u00a0Greco-Roman galleries. But now we\u2019ve got\u00a0@badgalriri<\/a>, straight off this month\u2019s Vogue<\/em> cover.”<\/p>\n

The superstar wholeheartedly approved of the art sharing the video on social media<\/a> writing, “shut down the met in marble! what\u2019s more gilded than that? Lol!” She thanked the magazine and museum for the “historic tribute” adding, “y\u2019all bad for this one!”<\/p>\n

As Rihanna prepares to welcome her little one into the world (she just celebrated her baby shower<\/a> alongside rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky at her favorite Italian restaurant, Giorgio Baldi), we’re sure her next appearance at the Met Gala will make up for lost
