{"id":55187,"date":"2022-04-25T17:15:22","date_gmt":"2022-04-25T17:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=55187"},"modified":"2022-04-25T17:15:54","modified_gmt":"2022-04-25T17:15:54","slug":"aurora-james-2022-sustainable-style-awards-getting-ready","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/aurora-james-2022-sustainable-style-awards-getting-ready\/","title":{"rendered":"Inside Aurora James&#8217; Glam Getting-Ready Routine Ahead of the 2022 Sustainable Style Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_55211\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55211\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-55211 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2022\/04\/aurora-james-featured.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"1335\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-55211\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Shot by Chris Singer, @chrissingerme<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Brother Vellies designer and <a href=\"https:\/\/15percentpledge.org\" target=\"_blank\">The Fifteen Pledge founder<\/a>, Aurora James knows what three things are key for awards show prep \u2014 a perfect red lip, a martini, and of course, a Brother Vellies shoe.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, James was honored with the Impact Award at the fifth annual <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/2022-sustainable-style-awards-honorees\/\">Sustainable Style Awards<\/a> at the West Hollywood Edition Hotel and she&#8217;s showing <em>GRAZIA USA<\/em> exactly how she prepped for her big night.<\/p>\n<p>The Sustainable Style Awards celebrate and recognize sustainable fashion and all of the people that advocate for a better industry and environment, and the Impact Award recognizes a creative director in fashion, jewelry, or accessories for their excellence in sustainable design and practice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/2022-sustainable-style-awards-honorees\/\">James spoke exclusively<\/a> with\u00a0<i>GRAZIA USA <\/i>before the ceremony where she said she was &#8220;very honored&#8221; to receive the Impact Award.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sustainability and social responsibility are at the very core of Brother Vellies,&#8221; she said. &#8220;We are dedicated to keeping the work of traditional craftsmen around the world alive and sustaining artisanal jobs while creating long-lasting products.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To James, sustainability goes beyond just material goods. &#8220;We cannot have material sustainability without moral sustainability. To be sustainable is to evaluate a brand\u2019s supply chain and production process and make changes for the better.
