After hitting the red carpet at the Elton John’s Oscars viewing party<\/a> in a custom Rodarte princess-style gown, Lady Gaga<\/a> made her way to the Dolby Theatre to present the 94th Academy Awards<\/a> Best Picture prize alongside legendary EGOT-winner Liza Minnelli. In true Gaga fashion, the star made a stop for a quick outfit change first, rewearing a dazzling piece that was already in her wardrobe.<\/span><\/p>\n

First reported by Vogue,<\/em><\/a> Gaga’s Ralph Lauren high-shine tuxedo was first worn during her Jazz & Piano residency at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand in 2019, while singing “New York, New York,” the theme song of Minnelli’s 1977 musical directed by Martin Scorsese. (Talk about a full circle moment!)<\/span><\/p>\n

Gaga refreshed the look for the Oscars by removing the detachable organza and tulle skirt, which featured thousands of Swarovski crystals (perfect for her showgirl Vegas performance) to wear the suit solo on stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Gaga presented alongside the iconic Minnelli, the “Bad Romance” singer’s ensemble was a perfect choice for the night. The tuxedo followed the elegant codes of the Oscars while at the same time referencing Minnelli’s ’70s and ’80s wardrobe, designed mainly by her longtime friend Halston, that featured a lot of sparkly separates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gaga presented the Best Picture prize to Sian Heder’s touching coming-of-age drama\u00a0<\/span>CODA<\/span><\/em>. The history-making moment becomes the first film with a predominantly deaf cast to win Best Picture.
