The countdown to this year’s Academy Awards<\/a> is officially underway and it will be back in full swing to its pre-pandemic glory. (Well, mostly. COVID-19 testing will be implemented!) After hosting the three-hour-plus broadcast<\/a> last April in a socially-distanced gathering at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, it’ll be back in its usual home at Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

As we gear up for the 94th Academy Awards, here’s everything you need to know about Hollywood’s biggest night.<\/span><\/p>\n

When and where will the 2022 Oscars take place?<\/span><\/h4>\n

The 94th Academy Awards will premiere on March 27 at 5 p.m. PST\/8 p.m. EST. After being held last year at the Union Station in downtown Los Angeles with a strict capacity limit of 170 people, the show will return to the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center, its home since 2002.<\/span><\/p>\n

Who is hosting the Oscars?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

After three years of host-less ceremonies, the all-female comedian trio, Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes, will host the 2022 ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n

Who is presenting at the 2022 Oscars?<\/span><\/h4>\n

On March 3, the Academy revealed that the first six presenters for this year’s awards ceremony will include Lady Gaga, Zo\u00eb Kravitz, Kevin Costner, Rosie Perez, Chris Rock, and last year’s winner for best-supporting-actress Oscar, Yuh-Jung Youn. On March 8, the Academy added that Lily James, Uma Thurman, Anthony Hopkins, Rami Malek, Simu Liu, Ruth Carter, and John Leguizamo would conclude the 2022 Oscars presenters.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where can I watch the 2022 Oscars?<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Oscars will be telecast live on ABC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Any major changes happening this year?<\/span><\/h4>\n

The awards will be presented live, excluding the presentations and acceptances of eight awards: documentary short, film editing, makeup\/hairstyling, original score, production design, animated short, live-action short, and sound. Instead, these awards will be recorded an hour before the live telecast commences and added to the live feed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will COVID-19 restrictions be in place?<\/h4>\n

First reported by\u00a0The New York Times<\/em><\/a>, this year’s ceremony will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for most \u2014 but not all guests inside the Dolby Theater. The Academy confirmed that the 2,500 nominees and guests must show proof of vaccination and test negative at least twice via PCR testing. However, performers and presenters at the awards ceremony will not need to show proof of vaccination but will be tested.<\/p>\n
