In Euphoria<\/em><\/a>\u2019s latest episode, \u201cThe Theater and Its Double<\/a>,\u201d character Kat Hernandez (Barbie Ferreira<\/a>) leans against her locker in an unimaginably chic vintage Egyptian short-sleeve midi dress, printed with scarabs, eyes, cartouches, and hieroglyphs. An archival garment from French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier<\/a>, this is not the first time fashion\u2019s beloved \u201cenfant terrible\u201d has been featured on Sam Levinson<\/a>\u2019s sizzling prestige teen drama.<\/p>\n

Opening its sophomore season<\/a> with a bang, a high-octane New Year\u2019s Eve house party sees its titular character, Rue Bennett (Zendaya<\/a>) in a red and black jacquard Gaultier vest from 1994 paired with vintage Roberto Cavalli slacks. With costume designer Heidi Bivens working hard behind the scenes and sourcing some of the best vintage pieces,<\/a> from Mugler<\/a> to Norman Norell and Christian Dior, this Procell<\/a>-sourced Jean Paul Gaultier find started the season off strong.<\/p>\n

Bivens was not the only HBO costume designer heavily influenced by runways of the past. Molly Rogers often dipped into the archives for the Sex and the City<\/em> reboot, And Just Like That<\/em>. Often implementing 1990s pieces previously featured in SATC<\/em> as treats for fans, there was a Jean Paul Gaultier moment that stood out from the rest.<\/p>\n

Donning what appears to be the a fantastically funky Jean Paul Gaultier three-piece suit, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) takes a trip to visit her editor in the series’ seventh episode, “Sex and the Widow.<\/a>” The look consists of a boxy grape-colored suit jacket, a grey vest, matching trousers, a chocolate brown polka-dot blouse and a red tie.<\/p>\n

Chronicled in And Just Like That…The Documentary<\/em><\/a>, Rogers is seen pulling the JPG Spring\/Summer 1997 outfit from an extensive array of archival fashions. As Rogers deems the piece fabulous, the look actually appeared to be all-in-one jumpsuit when featured on the hanger.<\/p>\n

With many pointing out the ensembles’ similarity to those worn by The Joker<\/em><\/a> or Absolutely Fabulous’ <\/em>Edina Monsoon<\/a>, the get-up quickly became the talk of the town.<\/p>\n

As vintage looks gain traction in prestige television, and as Jean Paul Gaultier<\/a>‘s genius continues to be rightfully lauded, we can’t wait to see which of our favorite characters grace our
