Though Cassie can be a controversial character on HBO Max’s Euphoria<\/em><\/a> \u2014 she is hooking up with her best friend’s ex, after all \u2014 Sydney Sweeney<\/strong><\/a>, who plays the role<\/a>, still feels connected to her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Cassie is a bit of a mix of both. I love her because I feel her pain<\/a>, I feel her loss, and I feel for her growth. But I\u2019m scared of the choices she makes because sometimes she doesn\u2019t think everything through,” the actress explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has always wanted to be loved, whether it\u2019s from her mom, her sister, her dad, boys, herself, and the part that complicates it is she doesn\u2019t have that love for herself, and she doesn\u2019t know how to achieve it. She thinks it\u2019s through other people, but it\u2019s through herself, and she doesn\u2019t like herself enough to be able to not need other people in her life,” she shared of what motivates Cassie.<\/p>\n

In season 2, Cassie has had some pretty crazy scenes<\/a> \u2014 from puking in a hot tub to screaming, “I have never, ever been happier” in the girls’ bathroom, but Sweeney had no idea that the line would go viral.<\/p>\n

“That was actually the first scene that we filmed<\/a>. I was like, \u2018Oh, my gosh, this is such a big scene to start off with. I guess we start out with a banger with Cassie.\u2019 As the season went on, I kind of forgot about it, and [now] it\u2019s everywhere,” she explained.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, since Euphoria<\/em> can sometimes touch on tough issues and situations, the blonde beauty is able to leave her character at the door when she comes home.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m able to just jump in and out … [I] basically break away all walls of protection. It\u2019s a very healthy method for me, because if I had to stay in that mindset before [scenes], I don\u2019t think I\u2019d be able to go home as Syd in the healthy way,” she revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes I don\u2019t even remember filming something because I\u2019m so engrossed in the character,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
