We are days away from the start of Fall-Winter 2022 New York Fashion Week<\/a>, and with all the excitement in the air and so much going on, we looked to expert Joshua Glass, Executive Editorial Director at IMG to let us in on everything we should have on our radar this season. There’s a reasonable chance you’re familiar with Glass already, or at least his work at IMG<\/a>. Glass and his team are behind everything from working closely with designers to bring their runway dreams to life to creating the glorious visual content that memorializes the event-filled week. With 130 designers participating in NYFW from February 11 through February 16, it’s bound to be another memorable affair.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahead, Glass shares with GRAZIA USA<\/em> what we can expect this season and how he’s managing his busy schedule (hint: it includes french fries and ginger tea).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

GRAZIA: <\/em>Tell us more about your role at IMG.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Joshua Glass:<\/strong> <\/em>As Executive Editorial Director at IMG, I’m across everything from managing designer relationships and NYFW: BTS programming through to creating content. My team have a hand in all that you see on the runway through to the digital screens at Spring Studios and even the after parties you attend in the evening. Fashion is all about fantasy and I’m fortunate that my role allows me to support designers in building their business and bringing their visions to life. There’s nothing more gratifying than leveraging the resources we have available at IMG to see their dream come to fruition.<\/span><\/p>\n

G: <\/em><\/span><\/strong>What programming can we expect at NYFW this season?<\/p>\n

JG: <\/strong><\/em>Our seasonal programming reflects culture, focusing on both the topics of today and the creatives that push the industry forward. This season, NYFW: The Talks includes a range of important conversations such as luxury resale and the new age of shopping in the metaverse, changing standards of beauty, and Black Representation and allyship, which will follow IN THE BLK’s debut showcase powered by #ChangeFashion.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I’m also looking forward to our project with IMG Fashion Alliance designer Rodarte, whose intricate and whimsical creations have graced the NYFW runway many a time and have also made it onto the silver screen. “The Art of Rodarte” brings Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s most iconic pieces to life in a stunning exhibition amplified by cutting-edge technology. The exhibition is open to the public for a limited time during NYFW and was produced by IMG FOCUS. We created the project with Afterpay, who has brought consumers into fashion week in a really smart way.<\/span><\/p>\n

G: <\/em><\/span><\/strong>Who are you most excited to hear from during NYFW: The Talks?<\/p>\n

JG: <\/strong><\/em>Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta! I’ve followed them closely throughout my entire career. I remember going to their debut runway show at Jack Chiles Gallery and am honored to be hosting the two designers in conversation about their eponymous brand’s ten-year anniversary alongside mega muse and IMG Model Paloma Elsesser. Eckhaus Latta has such a powerful voice within the independent fashion community here in New York, and it’s an honor to be sharing this milestone with them.<\/span><\/p>\n

G: <\/em><\/span><\/strong>Can people tune into NYFW programming virtually? How?<\/p>\n

JG: <\/strong><\/em>Yes! NYFW’s calendar is multi-dimensional \u2014 all key collections and NYFW: BTS programming can be streamed at NYFW.com. Consumers can also get their hands on collections from 11 Honor\u00e9, Sergio Hudson, Marrisa Wilson, Anna Sui and Altuzarra through our new shoppable livestream technology.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

G: <\/em><\/span><\/strong>What does a typical day look like for you? What shows are you most excited about?<\/p>\n

JG: <\/strong><\/em>There’s no such thing as a typical day and that’s even more true during Fashion Week. I try to start every day with a workout to kick things off on a high before the influx of emails, meetings, events and French fries for sustenance.<\/span><\/p>\n

I’m fortunate to be friends with a lot of fashion designers, so I always make sure to carve out time to support their work and enjoy the collections they’ve been working on. This season, I’m extremely excited to see Peter Do’s sophomore collection. He made quite a powerful statement last season with his first show and I’ve already heard rumblings of what’s to come. I can’t wait. It’s gratifying to see someone who has been working so hard to finally receive his flowers.<\/span><\/p>\n

G: <\/em><\/span><\/strong>After the last day of shows, do you immediately go into working on the next season?<\/p>\n

JG: <\/strong><\/em>My friends that don’t work in fashion joke that “fashion week is every week.” If you look at the international circuit, that’s true to an extent, but between February and September the team at IMG work year-round on new collaborations, projects, brand partnerships and ideating for the season ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n

G:<\/strong> <\/em>With over 130 designers participating in NYFW and so many events and activations throughout the day \u2014 how do you juggle all of it?<\/p>\n

JG: <\/strong><\/em>Multiple portable phone chargers, lots of French fries and ginger tea from Spring Place and a martini or two from the Polo
