Style icon Marilyn Monroe once said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” Well, Jimmy Choo<\/a> and Mugler are here to do just that. The two powerhouses have come together for a brilliant shoe collaboration titled Jimmy Choo\/Mugler, commemorating the latter’s first time selling footwear<\/a> under creative director Casey Cadwallader<\/a>.<\/p>\n Cadwallader and Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi take a walk down memory lane for the inspiration behind the collection. Diving into the ’90s and early 2000s archives, the fierce and avant-garde aesthetic of Mugler and Jimmy Choo’s feminine chic craftsmanship DNA are merged in a range of striking silhouettes that boast femininity, confidence, power, and glamour. “A shoe finishes the look and defines character,” says Cadwallader. “I have always associated Jimmy Choo with a very strong sense of sculpture in shoes, a balance of sharpness and curve. Both Mugler and Jimmy Choo are forward and sensual, and both worn by strong and confident women. That’s why this collaboration makes so much sense. There’s a clear synergy between Sandra and I when we work together.”<\/p>\n The Jimmy Choo\/Mugler campaign comes to life in a series of images shot by photographer Harley Weir featuring women caught in motion, conveying dynamic energy, following suit of Cadwallader ready-to-wear collections. “That these images are captured by a female photographer also adds an extra dimension \u2014 Harley’s work always celebrates femininity, a view of women by a woman.” says Choi in a statement shared with GRAZIA<\/em>. “There’s an inherent strength to that, which is very Mugler, and quintessentially Jimmy Choo.”<\/p>\n After virtually developing the entire collection during the lockdown, Cadwallader and Choi thought it was time to see the harmonious collaboration on people, and in motion. And what better place to celebrate than the City of Angels where their A-list clients call home?
