And Just Like That<\/em><\/a>‘s season finale will air on Thursday, February 3, and the ending may hint that Samantha Jones could be back if the series gets green-lit for another season.<\/p>\n

So, will Kim Cattrall<\/strong><\/a>, who played Samantha Jones, be making an appearance at some point in the future? Sorry to burst anyone’s bubble, but it looks like the door is shut for good.<\/p>\n

“No. Just like there was no thought that Kim would ever participate in\u00a0And Just Like That<\/em>, because she’s said what she had said,” creator Michael Patrick King<\/strong><\/a> said, referring to the blonde beauty’s comments about how she clashed with her costars and was done with the franchise forever.<\/p>\n

“The only place I participate in magical thinking is in fiction \u2026 Magically thinking, it’s great to have Samantha,” he added. “I have no realistic expectation of Kim Cattrall ever appearing again.”<\/p>\n

Though Cattrall isn’t physically in the picture, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong>), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon<\/strong>) and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis<\/strong>) mention Samantha throughout some episodes.<\/p>\n

For one, when Mr. Big (Chris Noth<\/strong>) died of a heart attack, leaving Carrie all by herself, Samantha made special arrangements for his funeral. Additionally, in another episode, Carrie and Samantha DM on Instagram about their prior adventures<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It was a big day for me as a writer when I realized that even though Kim Cattrall didn’t want to be in the series<\/a>, Samantha could be \u2014 because of texting,” King explained of Samantha’s presence.\u00a0“I was like, ‘Right! Samantha can be in the show.’ Because she should be: She’s part of the show and people love her. And I wanted to respect the legacy, wanted to respect the fans.”<\/p>\n

Even though Carrie and Samantha aren’t the best of friends anymore, it seems like the former will always have a soft spot for her pal.<\/p>\n

“I feel when someone’s in your heart and in your soul and friendships, how do your friends support you when you’re going through the worst thing that can happen?” King shared. “I found it interesting that Carrie would reach out to Samantha in certain specific times. And it’s kind of magical that all of a sudden on a text, Samantha makes a Samantha joke<\/a>. And you feel like she’s there again.”<\/p>\n

“I’m happy to be Samantha. We use it sparingly and well,” he gushed. “I love<\/em>\u00a0Samantha! I’m happy when she’s in the show. It was important emotionally for everybody. Me and the fans; me and the viewer<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

It’s unclear if season 2 will happen, but for now, we’ll be eagerly waiting for the
