We\u2019ve reached the halfway mark of Euphoria<\/em>\u2019s second season and the stakes are higher than ever. In episode four, “You Who Cannot See, Think of Those Who Can,” tensions exponentially rise within the Maddy, Nate, and Cassie love triangle, hitting a pukey peak at Maddy\u2019s birthday celebration<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After Nate meets up with Maddy<\/a> (Alexa Demie<\/a>) at the house where she babysits, the two discuss the state of their relationship, love, and the mistakes they\u2019ve made in the past. For the big talk, Maddy is decked out in high-fashion designs thanks to the Blumarine tea green slip dress and coordinating sequined robe she wears from the label\u2019s Spring\/Summer 2018 collection.<\/p>\n

With the girl gang dressed for the occasion, Cassie<\/a> (Sydney Sweeney<\/a>), Kat (Barbie Ferreira<\/a>), BB (Sophia Rose Wilson), and Lexi (Maude Apatow<\/a>) all gather at the Howard house for Maddy’s boozy birthday bash. BB chooses an Adidas off-the-shoulder dress, Kat goes for a custom dress and gloves set by Aun\u00e9 collections, and Lexi sports Olivia Rubin’s Nora Patchwork Silk Dress. At the anxious thought of Nate stopping by for Maddy, Cassie begins excessively binge drinking in her NA-KD Fashion pink puff sleeve mini dress.<\/p>\n

For birthday girl Maddy<\/a>, she chooses a slip dress from Marc Jacobs’ collaboration with Devon Lee Carlson<\/a> for her big day. In a behind-the-scenes interview, Euphoria<\/em> costume designer Heidi Bivens said, \u201cIt\u2019s funny how sometimes, things come together for a scene\u201d \u2026 \u201clike Maddy\u2019s birthday. Sometimes very planned. It can kind of come together in an improvisational way. Maddy\u2019s dress, we knew we wanted to use something by Marc Jacobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Demie (who plays Maddy) recalled how her friend, influencer Devon Lee Carlson, sent the slip dress over to the show after the collaboration.<\/p>\n

Bivens points out that while the little “M” charms that are hooked onto mini-bows are meant to stand for “Marc” [Jacobs], the charms can stand for “Maddy” as well.<\/p>\n

As usual, when Nate shows up, chaos ensues. He gifts Maddy a Tiffany & Co.’s Heart Tag pendant for her birthday, but their bliss doesn’t last long. When Cassie drunkenly slinks down the stairs in her pink Frankie’s Bikini Gemma Wrap one-piece suit<\/a>, everyone eventually follows suit, climbing into the hot tub. When Maddy calls Nate out for abruptly answering Cassie’s question regarding the state of their relationship, she points out the he’s asked her to move with him, to marry him, to have his babies.<\/p>\n

As soon as the word babies comes flying out of Maddy’s mouth, Cassie gets sick, and everyone flees the hot tub screaming. After, we’re left with a very big question mark as to the state of Nate’s relationship with either Cassie or Maddy.<\/p>\n
