Lately, Bella Hadid<\/a> has been getting very open and honest about mental health struggles, her Lyme disease diagnosis and the anxiety she feels when getting dressed. During a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a> last week, the supermodel got candid about it all<\/a>, talking about how she balances her day with exercise, monitors her time on social media, and picks outfits herself, sans stylist.<\/p>\n

Hadid told the outlet<\/a> she hasn’t worked with a personal stylist for two years, and has been going by a new approach: “Does this make me happy?” We can’t help but celebrate her refreshing approach by doing things her way \u2014 and love the original take she’s bringing to her winter wardrobe. Because when it’s dark, cold and gloomy out, why not pull out fun hats and neon colors every chance you get?<\/p>\n

Hadid’s most recent look came on January 26, when she bundled up while stepping out in New York City wearing an oversize black turtleneck layered under a bright green long-sleeve shirt, which she wore with flared jeans, black boots, a multicolored shoulder bag and black cap featuring flame embroidery.<\/p>\n

She’s been loving a colorful hat this season, and was photographed on December 30 in an oversize purple parka and baggy pants, with a bright yellow sweater and colorful knit cap with long tassels.<\/p>\n

During her interview with the WSJ<\/em><\/a>, Hadid opened up about her decision to forgo a stylist. “I was in such a weird place mentally that it was really complicated for me to get out of the house and put an outfit together, especially with the anxiety of [paparazzi] being outside and all that,” she said. “In the last year, it was really important for me to learn that even if people talk about my style or if they like it or if they don\u2019t, it doesn\u2019t matter, because it\u2019s my style<\/a>. When I leave the house in the morning, what I think about is: Does this make me happy?\u00a0Do I feel good in this and do I feel comfortable?<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n
