Playing Cassie in HBO Max’s hit series Euphoria<\/em> has put Sydney Sweeney<\/strong><\/a> on the map \u2014 an opportunity she is so grateful for.<\/p>\n

The blonde beauty has been in other hit shows, such as The White Lotus<\/em> \u2014 she played Olivia Mossbacher \u2014 and while she is happy that people are applauding her acting skills<\/a>, she wants people to be impressed when she stars in other series as well.<\/p>\n

On Euphoria<\/em>, Cassie is a troubled teenager who finds herself in some tough situations<\/a> \u2014 she had to get an abortion in season 1 and now she is fooling around with her best friend Maddy’s ex-boyfriend, Nate (played by Jacob Elordi<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

“With\u00a0The White Lotus<\/a><\/em>, I felt like people were finally recognizing the hard work I\u2019ve been doing,” she told The Independent<\/em><\/a>. “This is something that has bothered me for a while. I\u2019m very proud of my work in Euphoria<\/em>. I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked. I do The White Lotus<\/em> and all of a sudden critics are paying attention. People are loving me. They\u2019re going, ‘Oh my God, what\u2019s she doing next?’ I was like, ‘Did you not see that in Euphoria<\/em>? Did you not see that in The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em>?'”<\/p>\n

“When a guy has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise. But the moment a girl does it, it\u2019s completely different,” she added.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, she is making headlines. Though she wasn’t sure she would make it in Hollywood<\/a>, she is happy she listened to her gut and took a chance.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m really thankful to my parents,” the star gushed. “They sacrificed almost everything. They had to leave their home they\u2019d been in for their entire lives. L.A. is ten times more expensive than where I grew up. All the financial stress, family stress, it had a lot of wear and tear on us and my parents ended up getting divorced. It was not a happy road to get to where I am right now but I try to give back as much as I can.”<\/p>\n

As for what fans can expect during season 2, Sweeney teases things are going to get heated <\/a>between Cassie and Maddy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell I don\u2019t want to give too much away, because it\u2019s quite an experience and a rollercoaster<\/a>,\u201d she revealed during a chat with\u00a0Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThere is some wreckage.
