In the ’90s, Candace Bushnell<\/strong> wrote her dating column, which eventually became her book Sex and the City<\/em><\/a>. From there, she published the tome, and it became HBO’s hit series, starring Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

The blonde beauty created the group of friends<\/a> \u2014 Bradshaw, Charlotte York (Kristin Davis<\/strong>), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall<\/strong>) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon<\/strong>) \u2014 but she admitted that one of them is her least favorite character.<\/p>\n

“My friends and I always used to joke that, in real life, Carrie, Miranda, and Samantha would be friends and Charlotte would not be friends with them,” she told Bustle<\/em><\/a>. “Charlotte was manufactured to provide that romantic [archetype] of, ‘Oh, I want to find a man.’ I didn’t know women who were like that. I had my Charlotte, who was wealthy and nice and one of my best friends. So I would say those three, but Charlotte has great qualities<\/a>. Hilarious things happen to Charlotte.”<\/p>\n

When looking back on the series, which was on the air from 1998-2004, the author recalled one of her favorite moments.<\/p>\n

“When Samantha dates the modelizer, when Carrie dates the younger guy and then goes to his house and he has no coffee filters or toilet paper, when Carrie gets caught smoking pot by that guy’s parents. In those early episodes, the characters were a little bit more badass, and that was really the way women were in New York,” she said. “We weren\u2019t trying to fit in and be part of society, we weren\u2019t being good girls, we weren\u2019t sugar and spice and everything nice. It was the woman vs. society thing. That worked so well in those first two seasons<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

While watching the series, there were some moments that were hard for Bushnell to watch, as the series was loosely based on her own life.<\/p>\n

“When Carrie cheats with Big. That was when a part of me separated<\/a> from Carrie Bradshaw. That is something I would never do,” she confessed.<\/p>\n

Even though Carrie isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, Bushnell said: “I don’t pay that much attention to what people think of me or what they think of Carrie Bradshaw.
