Though she may not be the nicest, people are drawn to Emily Cooper’s (Lily Collins<\/strong><\/a>) boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu<\/strong><\/a>) on Netflix’s hit series Emily in Paris<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

During season 1, it took quite some time for Sylvie to warm up to the U.S. native, and while they don’t always get along, the boss babe has really taken Emily under her wing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really cute,\u201d she said when people have a kind response to the show, adding that she is \u201creally touched\u201d by \u201cyoung people, 20-year-olds, [who are] interested in Sylvie\u2019s character\u201d and leave \u201cincredible comments on Instagram.\u201d<\/p>\n

The French actress<\/a> is thankful that Sylvie \u201cwas written for a younger woman like 35, 40,” and she gets to play the \u201cnasty, but not really\u201d character.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity to do things and say things you never do in life because you\u2019re never that French,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019m never that French!\u201d<\/p>\n

During season 2, viewers find out that Sylvie is married to club owner\u00a0Laurent G.(Arnaud Binard<\/strong>), and though they aren’t in a committed relationship anymore, they still care for one another<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Instead of having an affair with her client, Antoine Lambert, the marketing guru finds herself head over heels for a photographer named Erik (S\u00f8ren Bregendal<\/strong>). Erik seems to be falling hard, as he wants to take their relationship to the next level. At first, she doesn’t love the idea, but eventually she comes around to it and even exudes confidence<\/a> when meeting his younger friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople my age should be freer than we are \u2026 being freer and being bolder<\/a> and having more fun and just live,\u201d Leroy-Beaulieu stated of Sylvie’s lifestyle.\u00a0\u201cYou know how hard it is when you pass 45 or even 40 and people start thinking, \u2018Just get out of the scene.\u2019 But there\u2019s so much we can do and transmit. We have a lot to teach the younger girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the end of the season, we see a different side of Sylvie, as she offers Emily a job, which would mean she would stay in the City of Light.<\/p>\n

“Sylvie has a relationship of love and hate \u2014 it\u2019s not even hate … It\u2019s tough love for Emily,” she explained. “She\u2019s [been] educating her since the beginning. It\u2019s a mentor relationship. Emily\u2019s going through trials and obstacles that Sylvie\u2019s throwing at her to make her grow. Sylvie really cares for Emily a lot, [but] she will obviously never show it.”<\/p>\n
