HBO\u2019s surprise hit comedy White Lotus<\/em> was unquestionably one of the best shows<\/a> of 2021. Creator Mike White\u2019s series about privileged jerks wreaking havoc on each other and the local staff of an exclusive resort<\/a> struck a major chord with critics and viewers alike. So, of course, the network booked White for a second all-expenses paid trip<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Details about the second season are quite sparse at this point. But HBO has given us the basic premise, and casting announcements have started to trickle out. Here\u2019s everything we know so far.<\/p>\n

A New Location<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The first season took place almost entirely at the fictional White Lotus resort in Hawaii. When HBO announced the new season in August, we learned that it would essentially follow an anthology TV model, focusing on a mostly new set of characters at a different White Lotus resort property. It remains to be seen where exactly the new season will take place, but it\u2019s a safe bet that it will be comparable to Hawaii. I mean, what are the chances that there\u2019s also a White Lotus ski resort?<\/p>\n

In October, TVLine reported<\/a> that Jennifer Coolidge<\/a> would return for the show\u2019s second season. HBO has yet to confirm the news, but it is widely expected that she will appear in the same role of wealthy, wounded Tanya McQuoid.<\/p>\n

Michael Imperioli<\/strong><\/h5>\n

More recently, it has been confirmed that The Sopranos<\/em><\/a> star Michael Imperioli has been cast in the new season. We even have some details about his character! According to Variety<\/em><\/a>, Imperioli\u2019s storyline will involve a multigenerational family. His character, Dominic Di Grasso, will travel to the resort along with his elderly father and adult son.<\/p>\n

Aubrey Plaza<\/strong><\/h5>\n

This week, news broke<\/a> that Parks and Recreation <\/em>alum Aubrey Plaza would also star in the second season of White Lotus<\/em>.
