The incomparable, elusive Tilda Swinton<\/a> is a master in the art of subtlety, her outfits do not need to be big and bold to make a statement, in fact this ensemble seems quite comfy. This look came courtesy of Swinton<\/a>‘s attendance at the Memoria<\/em> screening at the London ICA, and while the trousers and shirt in their own right are a lesson in simple dressing and effective sillouhettes, the shoes are something that caught our eye.<\/p>\n

Usually, in the realm of celebrities, it is very rare that you’d find someone on a red carpet daring to wore an outfit or piece that they had worn before. But sometimes, what you have works, and there’s no shame in owning it.<\/p>\n

This is the case for Swinton, as the brown, wedge boots she wore the the Memoria\u00a0<\/em>screening are in fact the same pair she wore to A Conversation with Tilda Swinton<\/em> at TheTimesCenter in New York City on November 29, 2011.<\/p>\n

There’s something to be said about keeping statement pieces in circulation for upwards of ten years, not just on the basis of personal style and aesthetic, but also on the basis of sustainability. There is a culture around acquiring the newest and hottest pieces in trend, and for good reason too. But it’s important to take a step back and realize that good pieces are made with longevity in mind, both in the realms of style and quality, and that is something Swinton’s style encapsulates.<\/p>\n
