After watching season 2 of Emily in Paris<\/em>, the question on everyone’s mind is \u2014 will Emily Cooper (Lily Collins<\/strong>) fight for chef Gabriel’s (Lucas Bravo<\/strong><\/a>) love or give her relationship with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount<\/strong><\/a>) a shot?<\/p>\n

At the moment, it’s unclear what will happen<\/a>, but Bravo, who gained notoriety when he was cast as Emily’s love interest in season 1, got candid about his career taking off in the past few years. As much as he loves his job, he admitted that it can take a toll on him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m healthy, of course, but I can be overweight \u2026 All the little things that define who you are and make you human once you\u2019re in that [heartthrob] category are perceived like a flaw. And I don\u2019t want to be perfect. I\u2019ve been working against that<\/a>. In France, they don\u2019t want good-looking. They want broken faces,” he told The Times<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

He added, “I think that character is always perceived with [physical flaws]. You can\u2019t be aesthetically beautiful and be smart or have depth. I kept getting roles like the dumb gym teacher. It\u2019s hard to break that image. I\u2019m not complaining, of course, but it\u2019s a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

The French native has been working in the industry for 10 years, but when the show debuted on Netflix<\/a> in October 2020, he became “a heartthrob overnight” \u2014 something he is still adjusting to.<\/p>\n

“It feels a bit rushed. Too much attention for the quality of work I provided,” he shared. \u201cI think being famous is the worst thing that can happen to you. It\u2019s just smoke. It doesn\u2019t mean anything. It made me very self-aware. Because when you think about that word and the people it encapsulates<\/a>, you see always a healthy, good-looking, ripped person \u2013 and I\u2019m not that.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the moment, the handsome hunk is single. After dating someone, “I was very much in love, but timing wasn\u2019t on our side. We were doing the same job [by this I assume we\u2019re talking about another actor] and we had a very private relationship,” he revealed. “She was working a lot and I was working a lot, and we were at opposite points in the world for an amount of time, and we decided it was going to be too hard. We\u2019re still good friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course I feel lonely, because I\u2019m in love with the idea of being in love<\/a>, but I think the less you look for it, the more it finds you,” he said.<\/p>\n
