Just when we thought the men in Emily in Paris<\/em><\/a> couldn’t get any better, in strolls Alfie (played by Lucien Laviscount<\/strong>), a new friend that takes interest in Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

Last season, Emily was at a crossroads when she slept with Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo<\/strong>) \u2014 and the next day her friend\/Gabriel’s ex-girlfriend Camille (played by Camille Razat<\/strong>) told Emily they needed to have a chat. Welp!<\/p>\n

Enter Alfie, a British banker who has also moved to Paris<\/a> for his job, who makes things a bit more complicated. Though Emily is enamored with the City of Lights, Alfie cannot say the same thing, which was hard for the actor to adjust to.<\/p>\n

“It was actually my first time in Paris. It was literally like Lucien in Paris<\/em>! The city is like a huge museum with the roof taken off \u2014everything is a spectacle. It\u2019s got this mystery and culture and this energy that lifts through it. I was just blown away by being there,” the 29-year-old told TIME<\/em><\/a>. “I like to see the beauty and good in most things, until something gives me a reason not to\u2014that\u2019s where myself and Alfie differ. The most amazing thing about shooting <\/a>Emily in Paris\u00a0<\/em>is the producers and the team find the most incredible locations. So, as much exploring as I could have done, I could have never seen Paris the way the show showed me Paris.”<\/p>\n

The U.K. native \u2014 who has starred in plenty of other TV shows such as Katy Keene<\/em>, Snatch<\/em> and Scream Queens<\/em> \u2014 nabbed the part pretty quickly, but he admitted he “didn’t have that much time to prepare.”<\/p>\n

“I was in New York working on some projects when I got a phone call from my manager saying, ‘Darren Star<\/strong> wants you to read for Emily in Paris<\/em>!’ I dropped everything and sent my audition back within an hour, then was on Zoom with Darren and Lily the next day, and in Paris a few days later<\/a>,” he recalled.<\/p>\n

It sure seems like fans will fall in love with Lucien in no time, but he is modest about the fanfare<\/a>. “I just hope I\u2019ve done a good job, more than anything. As for crushes, that\u2019d be lovely \u2014 if not, I\u2019ll be fine. I\u2019ll survive, I\u2019ll survive,” he quipped.<\/p>\n

So, can we expect to see Alfie in season 3 \u2014 when and if it gets green-lit?<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s up to Mr. Star,” he stated. “I\u2019m not looking too far ahead for myself. It would be an incredible honor to come back in season three. But if Alfie\u2019s journey is up, then I\u2019m just really thankful to be a small part of Emily\u2019s journey and the show. I met some incredible friends and learned so much.”<\/p>\n
