Lady Gaga<\/a> reaffirmed the dangers of method acting in a recent interview<\/a> when the actress revealed that she remained in character for Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci\u00a0<\/em>at all times. Even during her breaks .\u201cI was either in my hotel room, living and speaking as Reggiani, or I was on set, living and speaking as her. I remember I went out into Italy one day with a hat on to take a walk. I hadn\u2019t taken a walk in about two months and I panicked,\u201d Gaga recalled. \u201cI thought I was on a movie set.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the film’s director Ridley Scott, the performance of Gaga off-set was so authentic that even he thought her real-life accent and mannerisms were that of her role.<\/p>\n

“Well, at first I forgot,\u201d Scott said of Gaga’s faux accent in an interview with Vulture<\/a><\/em>. \u201cBecause she was so in character every minute of the day I saw her. Even socially, she was right in character. So I thought, I think this has always been her. But it wasn\u2019t.”<\/p>\n

Co-star Jared Leto adopted similar methods of acting for his role as Paolo Gucci. “Similar to Jared Leto,” the 83-year-old filmmaker noted. “He works in a very similar fashion. Once he goes in, it\u2019s like he\u2019s immersed, and he doesn\u2019t come out and breathe for air until he\u2019s finished.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott is behind award-winning films and blockbuster movies such as\u00a0Alien, Bade Runner, Gladiator\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Martian.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The House of Gucci <\/em>film based on Sara Gay Forden\u2019s book, The House of Gucci: A True Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed,\u00a0<\/em>came under fire earlier this year from Patrizia Gucci, one of Maurizio\u2019s second cousins saying, \u201cwe are truly disappointed.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Gaga defended the film and the reason behind not approaching the family prior to filming more recently. “…Nobody was going to tell me who Patrizia Gucci was. Not even Patrizia Gucci,” she said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

House of Gucci<\/em> will release into cinemas on November 24 in the US, November 26 in the UK, and January 1 in Australia.<\/p>\n
