When Zuhair Murad<\/a> unveiled his Fall 2021 Couture collection in July, the Lebanese designer recalled the day his atelier was rocked by the Beirut explosion last year. His archives were destroyed and yet, he was able to present a full glittering collection. At the American Music Awards<\/a> at the Los Angeles Microsoft Theatre on Sunday evening, Winnie Harlow wore one of the brand’s couture ensembles.<\/p>\n

The model and former GRAZIA cover star<\/a> attended the ceremony in a sheer mini dress which was emblazoned with thousands of intricate beads, rhinestones and countless hours of stitching. It featured a halter-style neckline, bare shoulders and open back. The look was styled by Jason Bolden and finished off with gold strappy heels.<\/p>\n

According to a past interview<\/a>, Murad described the collection as a format of celebration. \u201cI wanted to show it in a physical format as a celebration of renewal and hope,\u201d Murad said. \u201cMy clients almost demanded it. They want to enjoy life, go out again, buy new pieces and look beautiful, resuming a sense of luxe fastueux.\u201d<\/p>\n

“It was almost completely destroyed,\u201d he said of the Beirut disaster. \u201cMy treasured archive went up in flames. I lost almost three-quarters of it, 20 years of work. But here we are, ready to bounce back. Resilience is deeply ingrained in our culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just last week, Taylor Swift wore a Zuhair Murad shift mini dress for an interview on\u00a0The Tonight Show\u00a0<\/em>following the highly-publicized re-release of album,\u00a0<\/a>Red.<\/em><\/p>\n

Harlow’s look follows appearance from the likes of Machine Gun Kelly, Olivia Rodrigo, Billy Porter and Cardi B<\/a> at the AMAs.
