During quarantine, Selena Gomez has been decorating her new home and learning to play the guitar.<\/p>\n

In a video<\/a> posted to her Instagram yesterday, the 28-year-old singer and television producer said she hadn\u2019t been posting much in recent months because it hadn\u2019t felt right. \u201cI just think at the beginning of this year with everything going on, it felt a little insensitive to post things that may be joyful or celebratory. It was really hard for me,\u201d Gomez said. \u201cI’ve taken the time to learn, truly learn about what’s going on and I continue to make that my priority.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m just letting you know that I’m going to be a little bit more involved and just sending more love and kind of showing you some more of my personal stuff and what I’ve been doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of those things has been settling into her new home which she purchased in April for a cool $4.9 million. The Encino Los Angeles mansion \u2013 which used to be owned by legendary singer Tom Petty \u2013 has six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a gym, massage room, wine cellar, pool \u2013 and this beautiful little nook with Gomez\u2019s baby grand piano.<\/p>\n

Below, you can see what the latter room in the house used to look like (as listed on realtor.com) and how Gomez has transformed it with wallpaper, the emerald floral pattern a stark contrast to the overhead ash beams and white bay windows.<\/p>\n

But the botanical print is nothing new; butterflies, birds, bugs and blooms have been making their comeback on feature walls the world over since 2018. But it\u2019s always interesting to have a sticky-beak inside celebrity homes<\/a> and in this instance, this wallpaper pattern \u2013 while polarizing \u2013 is one you can emulate at home should you wish to inject some personality into a dull space.<\/p>\n

Considering we might all be inside our homes for a while longer, take a leaf out of Gomez\u2019s book and make a maximalist statement with wallpaper. Here are a few botanical suggestions to get you started.<\/p>\n
