As our news feeds remain dominated by coverage of\u00a0And Just Like That…<\/em><\/a>, the Sex and the City\u00a0<\/em>reboot is missing one key character: Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, as the fan-favorite vixen in large part defined the cult-classic show. There’s been talk of trying to convince Cattrall to come back<\/a>, but as each day goes on, that looks less and less likely. Now, in a development that has remained a secret until now, it looks like Cattrall has joined the cast of Peacock’s\u00a0Queer As Folk\u00a0<\/em>in a reoccurring role.<\/p>\n

Cattrall will play the role of a lush, good southern lady of high status, but who comes from the lands of a poverty-stricken trailer park. I don’t know about you, but this feels like the perfect role for Cattrall. It strangely channels the same lux nature of Samantha Jones, but with a twist that takes her out of the streets of Manhattan and into the New Orlean’s universe of Queer As Folk<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Queer As Folk\u00a0<\/em>follows the story of a rag-tag group of friends, set in New Orleans, after their lives have been transformed and irreversibly changed by the aftermath of a tragedy. The Peacock special, which was picked up last April by the streaming service, is a re-imagination of the original show, created by British director Russell T. Davis.<\/p>\n

As it stands right now, it seems like Cattrall has no intention of going back to the universe of Carrie Bradshaw and\u00a0Sex and the City<\/em>, she’ll be pretty booked in the near future. Cattrall has also landed a major, reoccurring role in Hulu\u2019s\u00a0How I Met Your Mother<\/em>\u00a0spinoff,\u00a0How I Met Your Father, <\/em>as well as wrapping up filming for a Sebastian Maniscalco biopic titled\u00a0About My Father<\/em>.<\/p>\n
