As the highly-anticipated Sex and the City<\/em> reboot And Just Like That..<\/a>.<\/em> edges nearer and nearer, Sarah Jessica Parker<\/a> has reflected on the ageism she experienced in wake of the new series. In a new cover interview<\/a>, the actress has slammed “misogynist” comments with her co-star Cynthia Nixon, executive producer Michael Patrick King and writer Samantha Irby.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man,\u201d Parker said. She added that social media exacerbated these comments.<\/p>\n

“Everyone has something to say,” the 56-year-old continued. “\u2018She has too many wrinkles, she doesn\u2019t have enough wrinkles.\u2019 It almost feels as if people don\u2019t want us to be perfectly okay with where we are, as if they almost enjoy us being pained by who we are today, whether we choose to age naturally and not look perfect, or whether you do something if that makes you feel better. I know what I look like. I have no choice. What am I going to do about it? Stop ageing? Disappear?\u201d<\/p>\n

And Just Like That..<\/em>. will continue on from the original SATC franchise and according to the synopsis, follows “Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite Carrie Bradshaw’s age, we can certainly expect the same fun and frivolous fashion. According to past images from on set and an array of reports, Bradshaw still loves a feathered hat<\/a>, the Fendi baguette bag<\/a> and she will even revisit the vintage John Galliano Dior newspaper dress<\/a> – iconic!<\/p>\n

The comments surrounding the women’s ages are surprising, given those who turn up to watch filming from the streets of New York City are between the ages of 14 and 35.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time we shoot on location, maybe 50 women wait at the end of the day to say hi to the ladies, and they\u2019re all between the ages of 25 and 30,\u201d King recalled. \u201cFourteen-year-old girls walking the dog with their dads call out to me, \u2018I can\u2019t wait!\u2019\u2009\u201d Parker chimes in. \u201cI think young women still really relate to this story. It\u2019s about finding friendships that matter, looking for work that fulfils you, and pursuing love, even when it drags you, bloodied, down the street.\u201d<\/p>\n

And Just Like That…\u00a0<\/em>will release onto streaming services from December.<\/p>\n
