“Take note, Mugler is coming through,” assertively echoes over the upbeat soundtrack that served as the backdrop of the luxury Parisian fashion house’s Fall-Winter 2021 digital show. The statement is one that has held true since creative director Casey Cadwallader<\/a> took the helm of Mugler in 2018.<\/p>\n

Pen in hand and taking note is precisely what we did as each model took center stage in a series of cinematic vignettes debuting the collection. From new faces to supermodels like Bella Hadid<\/a> (who we missed oh-so dearly on the runway this season), the diverse cast asserted girl boss energy donning Cadwallader sultry designs as second skin. When first announced creative director of Mugler, the young American designer indicated, ” I want Mugler to be for many different types of women, of all ages, sizes, colors and for any moment of the day.” He made this statement noticeably in the genius use of anonymous Mugler mannequins in his model lineup to peel away distractions and simply celebrate the feminine form in all its glory.<\/p>\n

In terms of the collection, Cadwallader goes back to the founding spirit of Mugler while skillfully moving towards the future of the maison. He alludes to the house’s signature corsetry and bodycon silhouettes while adapting them to the modern woman. The collection is spliced with innovative textiles, including recycled Lycra panels and jersey camisole seen in the dresses and deconstructed mini skirts that aren’t only more eco-conscious but make for a more comfortable fit. The Mugler color palette previously leaned heavily into black and neutral tones. However, the fall collection color palette evolves with vibrant hues of neon yellow, oxblood, indigo, and pumpkin intertwined with the classics.<\/p>\n

Naturally, as Pose star and Mugler model, Dominque Jackson<\/a> would say, we had to <\/span>get the shoes.<\/span><\/em> The digital presentation gives a first look at Mugler’s partnership with leading global luxury footwear brand Jimmy Choo. The duo worked together on a range of footwear from cut-out calf boots and pointed chain pumps to open sandals with metallic ball details.<\/span><\/p>\n
