He also reflected on why the steamy scenes weren&#8217;t exactly a dream. Even if it was with Aniston.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Weirdly, love scenes are awkward because there are maybe 30, 50 people watching it,&#8221; Gyllenhaal admitted. &#8220;That doesn&#8217;t turn me on, so most of the time it&#8217;s oddly mechanical. It&#8217;s a dance\u2014you&#8217;re choreographed for a camera.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added that the &#8220;pillow technique&#8221; was used. For those unacquainted with the movie magic, it basically acts as a buffer between two actors to create the illusion of having sex, without too much physical intimacy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I do remember a pillow&#8230;the pillow technique was used,&#8221; the\u00a0<em>Stronger<\/em> star shared. &#8220;That was just pre-emptive and generally always used when actually in a horizontal place in that movie. Everything else was whatever it was.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He continued, &#8220;I think that was actually Jennifer&#8217;s suggestion. I think she was actually very kind to suggest it before we began. In a conversation with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/movies\/jake-gyllenhaal-admits-crush-on-jennifer-aniston-the-jess-cagle-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">People<\/a>, <\/em>he said, &#8220;I will say, I had a crush on her for years. And working with her was not easy&#8230;I was\u2013um, yeah. That&#8217;s all I&#8217;m going to say. It was lovely.
