Award season is still going and I’m still in lockdown, working from home and living in the same Bassike black outfit every day. Make of that what you will but monitoring the best on ground menswear at the Emmy Awards is definitely creating some kind of feeling. Mostly FOMO.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the <\/span>MTV Video Music Awards<\/span><\/a>, the <\/span>Met Gala<\/span><\/a>, New York Fashion Week and now the Emmy Awards – this has been a month of menswear that has risen to the occasion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe it’s been the prolonged sense of being cooped up, but even the most anti-red carpet persons such as Seth Rogan are showing some inspired wardrobe choices.<\/span><\/p>\n

In comparison to the party atmosphere of the VMAs and the Met Gala’s costume ball approach, the Emmy Awards off a red carpet style that’s not too far off from what us regular folk might wear to Spring Carnival (if all goes to plan,<\/span> The Everest turf race<\/span><\/a> might still go ahead so start taking notes lads).<\/span><\/p>\n

Color has always been a big thing for menswear at the Emmys. But this year the men have either discovered the good stylists or actually taking note of what looks good on them and works on a red carpet.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you had to pick two trends to watch out for, prepare for a summer of gelato-inspired hues of chocolate, caramel and pink and the continued evolution of the non-suit – tweaked silhouettes that highlight a blend of leisurely styling and tailoring. The latter a clear relic of the years that weren\u2019t when we were cooped up inside and hopefully a sign of even more creative menswear looks to come.<\/span><\/p>\n

Comedian Kenan Thompson, star of the upcoming Matrix<\/a> film Jonathon Groff and the night\u2019s biggest make-over surprise Seth Rogen all turned it out in the desert-inspired colors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rogen, better known for his beard and shaggy stoner aesthetic, looked almost unrecognizable with a clean jawline and tonal suit. Maybe this is a new era for the actor who has proven himself to also be quite the ceramicist in lockdown.<\/span><\/p>\n
