The <em>I May Destroy You<\/em> writer, director, actress and producer took home a statuette in the best writing for a limited series category today in Los Angeles. Coel\u2019s painstakingly honest portrait of her own experience with sexual assault \u2013 and its heartbreaking aftermath \u2013 was subject to uproar earlier this year when the <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/michaela-coel-i-may-destroy-you-golden-globes-snub\/\">Golden Globes failed to give the series the recognition it so rightfully deserved.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In her speech, Coel called upon writers to \u201cwrite the tale that scares you, that makes you feel uncertain, that is uncomfortable.
