Some are saying that this year Rihanna rang it in red carpet wise, opting for a look less extravagant than her previous years of groundbreaking Met Gala attire. But these critics of the queen seem to be forgetting that this year Rihanna wasn\u2019t just Rihanna. She was Rihanna with the night\u2019s best accessory on her arm: A$AP Rocky.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The (world\u2019s hottest) couple arrived fashionably late to the event<\/a>\u2014but of course\u2014wearing coordinating outfits: Rihanna in a voluminous black Balenciaga Couture gown and Rocky wearing an equally puffy throw by Eli Russell Linnetz.<\/span><\/p>\n

The matching looks were clearly planned for the couple\u2019s red carpet debut, and they made the most of it: holding hands, kissing and giggling for all the world to see. And boy, do we love to see it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A few days prior to the Met, it was revealed that Rihanna was planning to throw a Met Gala afterparty that had celebrities falling over themselves to score an invite. <\/span>Page Six <\/span><\/i><\/a>reported the event was rumored to be looking like the year\u2019s hottest party, leaving some people \u201cbegging\u201d to get in (me). <\/span><\/p>\n

A<\/span>nother source said other parties were having trouble booking musicians for their events because artists didn’t “want to miss the chance to hang at Rihanna\u2019s” party. \u201cOne promoter was putting tens of thousands on the table in offers,\u201d the source said. \u201cBut everyone turned it down just to be at Rihanna\u2019s.”<\/p>\n

For her bash, Rih changed out of her Couture and into something more suitable for the dancefloor. Photographed heading into the venue, the singer was seen wearing a loose black T-shirt with a diamond clip cropping it to her waist, alongside a sheer black skirt weighed down by delicate beads. On her head, she wore a black bejewelled headpiece and accessorized with a silver sparkly choker and matching bracelets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Though stunning, the look was more low-key than Rihanna’s usual afterparty attire\u2014but this is a woman who’s busy prepping for her Savage x Fenty show in a week’s time, busy being a billionaire and busy being madly in love.<\/p>\n

Plus, if Rihanna says T-shirts, T-shirts it is.<\/p>\n
