Fashion’s biggest night out has always been synonymous with gowns, diamonds, and the finer things in life\u2013but this year, there’s a new look trending on the carpet\u2013Horse girl fashion. Yup, you heard me right, being a horse girl<\/a> has been multiple A-listers response when asked a about the inspiration behind their looks of the night. Maybe it’s all the time we got to spend at home trying out new hobbies, or perhaps Beyonce’s latest Ivy Park collection<\/a> started a movement; and although it’s an inspo we thought we would never hear come from the Met Gala\u2013<\/a>it\u2019s a thing, and celebrities are loving it.<\/p>\n

Some are taking the trend more literal than others (see Kim Petras in Collina Strada) while others are adding a cowboy chic flair to their ensembles or paying homage to their American home states. American soul singer, songwriter, and record producer Leon Bridges tributes his western-inspired look to his Texas upbringing. Fellow Texan Kacey Musgraves opted for a Ralph Lauren Collection look that fuses timeless style with her country roots. The head-turning look is equally fitting for the Met gala steps or an equestrian soiree (a very chich one, that is.)<\/p>\n

When asked, “How did Donatella Versace come up with your custom Versace Look?” on his beige carpet interview, The Colombian singer Maluma responded with, “she knows I love horses.” It’s safe to say that the Horse Girl (and guy) aesthetic has upgraded from its TikTok origins and has not only successfully infiltrated high fashion but earned staying power, making its way on fashion’s most important red carpet.<\/p>\n
