Alongside potential major awards contenders from Oscar-winning directors, we\u2019ve got lighter fare, cute kiddie flicks and the usual holiday rom-coms. If you\u2019re feeling overwhelmed by the onslaught of content, you\u2019re not alone! Luckily, we took the time to sift through the titles and picked the Netflix films we\u2019re most excited to stream in the coming months.<\/p>\n<h4>The Starling<\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Starling | Official Trailer | Netflix\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fYyImx_KXm4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Never underestimate the power of a feel-good dramedy in difficult times\u2014particularly one with a cast as appealing as this! Melissa McCarthy and Chris O\u2019Dowd star as a couple dealing with the loss of a child in very different ways. He\u2019s checked out of their marriage by checking into a mental health facility, while she battles an aggressive bird that\u2019s taken over her garden. She\u2019s also getting unexpected help from an off-beat shrink-turned-vet (Kevin Klein). Check your cynicism at the door and be prepared to be uplifted. <em>The Starling<\/em> premieres September 24.<\/p>\n<h4>Diana: The Musical<\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Diana: The Musical - Coming to Broadway\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zKFyk1TltG8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Maybe it doesn\u2019t technically count as a <em>film<\/em>, but with <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/william-harry-bbc-diana-interview\/\">Diana<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/crown-elizabeth-debicki-princess-diana-dominic-west-prince-charles-netflix-first-look\/\">mania<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/kristen-stewart-spencer-film-poster\/\">reaching<\/a> levels not seen since her tragic death in 1997, this filmed performance of <em>Diana: The Musical <\/em>is a must-see. Previews for the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/broadway-reopens-september\/\">Broadway<\/a> run don\u2019t even start until November, but Netflix is giving us the full experience early. The cast alone makes this tale of revenge in the Old West worth seeing! Majors stars as an outlaw whose own gang is dead set on going head-to-head with that of his recently sprung nemesis (Elba). Rebecca Hall\u2019s directorial debut had a ton of buzz going into the 2021 festival season and has been rapturously received. Based on Nella Larson\u2019s 1929 novel, the film stars Ruth Negga as Clare and <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/tessa-thompson-and-chanel-are-a-match-made-in-heaven\/\">Tessa Thompson<\/a> as Reenie, two childhood friends whose bond is tested by Clare\u2019s ability to pass for a white woman. <em>Passing<\/em> premieres November 10.<\/p>\n<h4>tick, tick&#8230;BOOM!<\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"TICK TICK BOOM Official Trailer (2021) Andrew Garfield, Vanessa Hudgens\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dtk4k8wHkIA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Now, in all honesty, there\u2019s reason to feel a little conflicted about Jonathan Larson\u2019s autobiographical musical <em>tick, tick\u2026BOOM!<\/em> After all, the composer, who died in 1996, has been accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.them.us\/story\/sarah-schulman-rent\" target=\"_blank\">ripping off<\/a> author and activist Sarah Schulman\u2019s work and straight-washing it to make his most famous production, <em>Rent<\/em>. But <em>Hamilton <\/em>creator <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/lin-manuel-miranda-in-the-heights\/\">Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/a> makes his film directorial debut with this film adaptation, and it\u2019s always exciting to see what thoroughly odd choices Andrew Garfield (who stars as Larson) will make. Throw in <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/madison-beer-vanessa-hudgens-skincare\/\">Vanessa Hudgens<\/a> and Judith Light and how could you <em>not<\/em> watch? <em>tick, tick\u2026BOOM! <\/em>premieres November 19.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>The Power of the Dog<\/h4>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Power of the Dog | Official Teaser | Netflix\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ELvKuuXdfCU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Visionary director Jane Campion hasn\u2019t made a feature film since 2009\u2019s <em>Bright Star<\/em>, which would make her latest noteworthy enough. But <em>The Power of the Dog <\/em>is also her first film to focus on a male anti-hero, a major departure for the Oscar-winning filmmaker whose work has largely centered female desire. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as cruel rancher Phil Burbank, who torments his sister-in-law (<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/kirsten-dunst-announces-second-pregnancy\/\">Kirsten Dunst<\/a>) and her teenage son (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Based on Thomas Savage\u2019s 1967 novel, <em>The Power of the Dog<\/em> is sure to be a characteristically intense, visual sumptuous offering from Campion. From <em>The Young Pope<\/em> writer-director Paulo Sorrentino comes this story of a young man coming-of-age in 1980 Naples.
