Kate Hudson<\/a> isn’t one to stray from the truth. In January the actress opened up about the struggles of raising three children<\/a> with different fathers. In a new interview with Mirror Online<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>Hudson has now revealed how her own past traumas assisted her acting career and how motherhood changed her life.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Bride Wars\u00a0<\/em>star, who has a famously close relationship with her mother Goldie Hawn<\/a> (it is seriously so sweet to watch), admitted she has always struggled with a lack of relationship with her father, Bill Hudson.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had personal struggles or familial situations that were challenging,\u201d Hudson explained. \u201c[They] kind of prepared me for my future and my success. I had a lot of personal trauma I never really allowed myself to be OK about, or recognize as being traumatic.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI\u2019d probably tell my younger self, \u2018It\u2019s OK that you\u2019re hurting\u2026 you\u2019re OK.\u2019 Maybe that would have softened some things in my life a bit along the way. I\u2019d give myself permission to give myself a big hug.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition, the actress noted that motherhood has made her \u201ca better human being\u201d and a \u201cvery good therapist.\u201d She also said her children keep her “grounded and focussed”. Hudson shares daughter Rani Rose, two, with her current partner Danny Fujikawa, son Bingham, 10, with ex-fianc\u00e9 Matt Bellamy, and Ryder, 17, with ex-husband Chris Robinson.<\/p>\n
