Jennifer Lopez might have spent the weekend scrubbing every last trace of her relationship with Alex Rodriguez from social media,<\/a>\u00a0unfollowing her ex in the process, but instead of following suit, the MLB player is taking the high road.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a new interview, his first since their split was announced in March, Rodriguez addressed his high-profile relationship with Lopez saying he\u2019s \u201cgrateful\u201d for the \u201cincredible life\u201d he had with her during their five years together.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI had five years of an incredible life and partnership and also with my daughters, we learned so much,\u201d the sports star told<\/span> Entertainment Tonight<\/span><\/i><\/a> in an interview published on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rodriguez added he and his daughters\u2014Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12, who had a close relationship with Lopez and her children\u2014now have the \u201copportunity to take that and move forward and say, \u2018You know what? We\u2019re so grateful for the last five years, how do we make the next five years better because of lessons learned?’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
