Despite the years passing\u2013and Jennifer Aniston reiterating publicly multiple times that she\u2019s not, in fact, a sad and lonely woman\u2014it\u2019s been near impossible to stop the rumors and reports about her love life. Ever since we saw firsthand her heartbreak play out in real time during her divorce from Brad Pitt, millennials have been overly invested in the actress\u2019 relationships, but the internet went into overdrive more than ever when a newly single Aniston and a newly single Pitt reunited at the SAG Awards in 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n

As images of the former couple embracing backstage went viral, hundreds of op-eds were written about whether or not a romantic reunion would, or should, happen. But as the months passed, eventually the world forgot and everything resumed to its normal scheduled programming.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, earlier this year during the <\/span>Friends<\/span><\/i> reunion, Aniston and her on-screen lover David Schwimmer threw a spanner in the works, revealing that during the show\u2019s 10-year reign Ross and Rachel\u2019s famous chemistry wasn\u2019t just an act. In fact, they both had serious crushes on each other during filming, but the timing was always off.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, according to new reports, the pair have started exploring their romantic relationship for the first time, after decades of friendship. Apparently, reminiscing about their former crushes on each other rekindled feelings in both Aniston and Schwimmer and they’ve been texting ever since the reunion special. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they\u2019d always had to bury was still there,\u201d a source told <\/span>Closer<\/span><\/i><\/a>. <\/span><\/i>\u201cThey began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The pair have allegedly also been \u201cspending time at Jen\u2019s home, where she\u2019s cooked dinners in the evenings, and have enjoyed quality time together, chatting and laughing,\u201d says the source.\u201cThey were also spotted drinking wine, deep in conversation, as they walked around one of Jen\u2019s favorite vineyards in Santa Barbara, where it was clear there was lots of chemistry between them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

During the reunion special, the pair admitted to having feelings for each other, but never acting on it. \u201cThe first season I had a major crush on Jen,\u201d Schwimmer said.\u201cAt some point we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship\u201d, he continued. <\/span>\u201cAnd we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Schwimmer added they would often \u201ccuddle on the couch\u201d during rehearsal breaks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe would spoon and fall asleep on the couch and I kept thinking, how did not everyone know we were crushing on each other?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Aniston added, \u201cHonestly, I remember saying one time to David, \u2018It\u2019s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSure enough, first time we kissed was in that coffee shop. We just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Aniston and Schwimmer haven\u2019t responded to the rumors, but Aniston did take to social media today to wish her (other) ex-husband a happy birthday. On Instagram stories, the actress shared a selfie of\u00a0 Justin Theroux alongside the note, \u201cHappy Birthday JT.\u201d She followed it up with a topless photo of the actor, writing, \u201cTruly one of a kind, LOVE YOU.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Since ending their relationship in 2015, Aniston and Theroux have stayed close and continue to spend Thanksgiving together with their mutual friends. Theroux recently told Esquire<\/i>, \u201cWe don\u2019t talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text. I\u2019m sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship.\u201d Here’s hoping Schwimmer is on this year’s Thanksgiving guest list.<\/p>\n
