While it is already known that Kit Harington<\/a> had to seek therapy<\/a> for anxiety while playing Game of Thrones\u00a0<\/em>character Jon Snow, the actor has laid bare the trauma he endured following the release of the eighth and final season. In a recent interview with the Sunday Times<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>the 34-year-old admitted he checked himself into rehab after hiding addiction and depression from his wife, and GOT<\/em> co-star Rose Leslie.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings that have happened to me since \u2018Thrones\u2019 ended, and that were happening during \u2018Thrones,\u2019 were of a pretty traumatic nature, and they did include alcohol,\u201d Harington told the publication. \u201cYou get to a place where you feel like you are a bad person, you feel like you are a shameful person, and you feel that there\u2019s no way out. That\u2019s just who you are. And getting sober is the process of going, \u2018No, I can change.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor undertook treatment at the Connecticut retreat Priv\u00e9-Swiss in May 2019 after grappling with suicidal ideation. \u201cI went through periods of real depression where I wanted to do all sorts of things,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can imagine the stresses that it causes to those around you,\u201d he explained. \u201cI will say about my addictions that I kept them very, very quiet and I was incredibly secretive and incredibly locked up with them.”<\/p>\n

Harington also noted that the old notion \u201cleopard doesn\u2019t change its spots\u201d is \u201ccompletely false\u201d, and assisted the actor in working on himself for lasting change in rehab.<\/p>\n

Harington and Leslie welcomed a baby boy in February 2021<\/a>. The couple married in 2018 at Leslie\u2019s ancestral castle in
