She added: \u201cIt\u2019s easier to cancel someone than to find forgiveness and compassion in ourselves or take the time to chance hearts and minds. There\u2019s no more room for division if we want to keep seeing progress! Knowledge is power! I know I still have so much to learn!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Extending her personal knowledge and resources, Cyrus wrote in the caption of her personal message to the\u00a0<em>Rockstar\u00a0<\/em>rapper, \u201c@DaBaby check your DMS \u2013 would love to talk and see how we can learn from each other and help be part of making a more just and understanding future!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cyrus&#8217; stroke of compassion comes after DaBaby has been faced with a slew of festival cancellations and the industry&#8217;s top musicians taking public stances against his behavior. During his Rolling Loud performance, the rapper told the Miami crowd, \u201cIf you didn\u2019t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that\u2019ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up.\u201d He followed up his insensitive remarks with crude comments regarding female vaginal health and oral sex between men.<\/p>\n<p>The controversy regarding the 29-year-old revolves around the misinformation, stigma and homophobia deeply-seeded in his sentiments.\u00a0While socially exiling those who are living with HIV\/AIDS, the comments also push the false notion that the ultimate prognosis for those living with HIV\/AIDS is death. His startling statements also echo the long-standing beliefs that HIV\/AIDS and other sexually-transmitted diseases only occur via sexual promiscuity.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the rapper remained obstinate against apologizing for his comments, rallying support from hip hop veterans T.I. and Boosie.
